Keypad Door Locks – Picking Out The Best
Whether you own a business, or maybe you own your own home, you’re going to find that you’re going to need to have to protect your building / home. If you have employees, you may want to consider looking into a keypad based door lock. The cool thing about a keypad door lock is that you’re not only going to allow them to gain access to your building via a code, you can also change it down the road.
If you’re looking to purchase a door lock that is equipped with a keypad, here are some things that you’re going to want to look out for:
- Make sure that you can change the code - If you fire an employee, or one is going to quit on you, you’re going to want to be sure that you can change the code. The reason that you will want to do this is because you don’t want them coming back in at their leisure, when they aren’t allowed.
- Get one with an alarm – One of my favorite features is one that sounds off an alarm after a few failed attempts. This is a great way to deter those that want to play with the code.
- The look - Just like any other door knob, you’re going to want to get one that fits your door style. You will also want to be sure that you’re going to get one that is rather easily to install. If it is harder to install, you can hire a locksmith to help you out. This is something that is up to you.
With that being said, I would recommend that you check out the following brands that tend to have some rather good reviews online:
- Schlage
- General Electric
- Morning Industries
- IEI
- Master Lock
